About Us

The Eco Table is an independent importer and merchant that offers a unique collection of artisan homewares and cookware from around the world + ultra stylish and sustainable single-use tableware usually only available to food service operators.

Established in 2003, our collection has grown over the years to offer beautiful, functional items for kitchen and table with a strong focus on sustainability and quality. We travel the world to source unique and original products, hand-made by artisans by old-world methods that preserve age-old techniques and crafts.  Founder Catherine Bell’s experience as a cook, food writer and cookery educator is invaluable when it comes to selecting what we import.

Everything available on The Eco Table is sourced and imported by us and although you will find our products in stores around New Zealand and Australia, The Eco Table is the only place you will find our complete collection.

Ethics are as important as quality - how products are made, respect for artisans working conditions and sustainability all play a part here.

Some items are very rustic and because they are hand-made have small idiosyncrasies that add to their character – we call this perfectly imperfect.

You can visit our store in Auckland if you'd prefer to hand-select your purchases. This is often preferred for some of the more rustic items.

The Eco Table proudly supports the Garden to Table Trust, founded by Catherine in 2008 to enable children across New Zealand to learn to grow, harvest, prepare and share fresh food, at school as part of their learning.
